Waking up to New York

We made it! We are actually in the state of New York. After the long sleepless night of numb butts and kinked necks, I woke up to the beautiful sunrise of New York!

Table for 6

After passing through Chicago, the city in which we got caught up in "the real world" also known as traffic, all 6 of our stomachs were ready for a little bit of dinner. Without much of a decision to make, we pulled over on the highway to a BP and the dreaded McDonald's. As we were all hesitant to walk into the greasy capital of the world and claim our table of 6, we took a deep breath and realized this is where we would fill our stomachs. As we walked in, we all starred blankly at the menu, as if something appetizing would suddenly appear. Everyone around us, some how already knew what they wanted to order before they even came through the door. 3 salads and 3 chicken snack wraps later, we were surprisingly satisfied and ready to get back on the road.

Bladder Infection

As a reminder, this road trip across the country WILL take about 20 hours total. About an hour into the trip, Mike decided to take on the challenge of NOT going to the bathroom the whole way! Although, Julia, the newest employee to the Health Care industry quickly made him back down from his challenge.

6 People, 5 Ipods, 4 Pillows, 3 Screens for Viewing, 2 People wearing seatbelts, and 1 GPS!!

Well, the time has come. May 14, we begin our journey to Ithaca, NY. We loaded up Julia's '98 Dodge Durango with 6 people, 6 suitcases and 6 sets of headphones. Our journey began last night when everyone stayed with Nate and I. Good thing we have plenty of room for air-mattresses and different rooms for TV viewing. We have officially been on the road for 2 hours, although it already seems like forever. We managed to do 4 different types of entertainment within an hour. Now only 13 more hours on the road! Our plan is to drive straight though. If everyone takes turns driving, we should be good to go! Although, we are traveling with the road warrior, also known as my husband. I believe, in a former life, he was a truck driver. He LOVES to drive! He started us on the journey and has said that he is willing to drive for 8 hours straight. He said, "It's just like a work day!" We'll see... Stay posted, I'm sure we will have more to come!

Becoming like everyone else.

I have decided to give in and start a blog! I'm not too sure why, maybe because everyone else is doing it. I joined facebook, I took at look at myspace but never caught on, I joined twitter...but never use it. Tonight, I begin my blog.
